One day to embrace

To do it all again

To fight the good fight of faith.

One day closer to glory

One day all we’re giv’n

Even this is not assured

We may yet see heaven!

One day closer to glory

One day closer to Him

Where never a tear will fall

Nor the light grow dim.

One day closer to glory

One day closer to truth

When the books will be laid open

And our works reviewed.

One day we should want to see

There is so much to learn

He has such mysteries!

One day closer to glory

One day in front of you

Still time to trust Jesus

Still time to follow through.

One day closer to glory

One day to live with vigor

Not counting on a feeling

Only drawing ever nearer.

One day closer to glory

One day to understand

He has made us for loving

Through the Son of Man.
