As high as heaven is above

We have this mercy.

Heaven does not desert us

It knows what we’re up to

It fights on our behalf

No matter what we do.

We are in its grip

We stand before it righteously

Angels catch our foot’s slip.

It is a faithful friend

It cheers and urges us on

To the very end.

Jesus is preparing our abode

Even this late hour.

It is holding our place upstairs

Where we’ll go and reign with Jesus

Oh death’s not ours to fear.

Can’t you hear the angels’ song?

Here comes the tune in one accord,

“Hurry now, don’t be long!”

Only urges us to be strong

And fight the good fight of faith here
