Take My Hand (5/17)

Take my hand
Hold on now
Here we go again.

Thursday has come
Still much to do
We’re not quite to the end.

Take My hand
It is strong
It can pull you up.

Please don’t leave the day
“To chance” –
There’s no such thing as luck.

Take My hand
I have a firm grip
I will not let you go.

I will lead you
Through the hours
Whether fast or slow.

Take my hand
I offer it freely
I’m the burden-bearer.

I will keep
Your feet planted
On the straight and narrow.

Take my hand
Don’t go alone
As you’re so apt to do.

Take some time
Meet with Me
Have integrity, follow through.

May integrity and uprightness protect me, because my hope, LORD, is in you. Psalm 25:21

One Day Closer (5/17)

Oneday closer to glory

One day to embrace

To do it all again

To fight the good fight of faith.

One day closer to glory

One day all we’re giv’n

Even this is not assured

We may yet see heaven!

One day closer to glory

One day closer to Him

Where never a tear will fall

Nor the light grow dim.

One day closer to glory

One day closer to truth

When the books will be laid open

And our works reviewed.

Oneday closer to glory

One day we should want to see

There is so much to learn

He has such mysteries!

One day closer to glory

One day in front of you

Still time to trust Jesus

Still time to follow through.

One day closer to glory

One day to live with vigor

Not counting on a feeling

Only drawing ever nearer.

One day closer to glory

One day to understand

He has made us for loving

Through the Son of Man.

Heaven Help Us (5/16)

Heaven does not desert usIt has heard our plea

As high as heaven is above

We have this mercy.

Heaven does not desert us

It knows what we’re up to

It fights on our behalf

No matter what we do.

Heaven does not desert us

We are in its grip

We stand before it righteously

Angels catch our foot’s slip.

Heaven does not desert us

It is a faithful friend

It cheers and urges us on

To the very end.

Heaven does not desert usOnly awaits our arrival

Jesus is preparing our abode

Even this late hour.

Heaven does not desert us

It is holding our place upstairs

Where we’ll go and reign with Jesus

Oh death’s not ours to fear.

Heaven does not desert us

Can’t you hear the angels’ song?

Here comes the tune in one accord,

“Hurry now, don’t be long!”

Heaven does not desert us

Only urges us to be strong

And fight the good fight of faith here

Ever heeding, marching on.

Come Unto Me (5/15)

Come unto Me

You heavy-laden

I will give you rest.

Come unto Me

Don’t hesitate

Don’t I know what’s best?

Come unto Me

In the morning

When there’s no one else.

Come unto Me

I am gentle

I will only help.

Come unto Me

And lay it down

Before it has begun.

Come unto Me

It’s no problem

For the Father’s Only Son.

Come unto Me

Don’t labor –

This is my job to do.

Come unto Me

Before anxiety

Begins to creep up on you.

Come unto Me

Don’t belabor

Don’t start with excuse.

Come unto Me

Let me show you

I bear the burden of proof.

Come unto Me

Just do it

Don’t analyze my commands.

Come unto Me

I’ll illuminate the clouds

Show you the why’s of man.

Come unto Me

Don’t be long –

Tarrying is not trusting.

Come unto Me

Trust me now

I will only help you.

Matthew 11: 28-29

Whatever It Takes (aka ‘In Good Hands’) (5/15)

Whatever it takesI’ll go through

To feel You near again

I won’t trade time for anything

Except Your will to win.

Whatever it takes

I’ll go through

I won’t be so quick to break free

But trust that no matter what

You know better than me.

Whatever it takes

I’ll go through

I’m tired of this charade

I want to live with integrity

I want to be brave.

Whatever it takesI’ll go through

I won’t sit back and die

I’ll seek You ever-earnestedly

Await Your gracious reply.

Whatever it takes

I’ll go through

I can be tired and endure

There’s a higher calling I hear

Oh I want to mature!

Whatever it takes

I’ll go through

Though others won’t understand

I will not listen to them

Not live for mortal man.

Whatever it takes

I’ll go through

Now don’t doubt me at all

I’ve set my mind on the high way

God save me when I fall.

My Heart (5/15)

Lord what do I have to do?

What is it going to take?

I’m crying out to You

Still I don’t want to break.

I want to make an impact

I want to make a difference

Instead I get caught up

Thwarting such deliverance.

Lord what do I have to do?

What is it going to take?

When will I feel as if

I’ve lived for heaven’s sake?

I don’t want to continue

Settling for lesser things

I want to grow, to mature

And see what trusting brings.

Lord what do I have to do?

What is it going to take?

I feel so far from You

Where was my mistake?

Life is so dull

Without what I knew

The impression of a song

A sweet hymn’s tune.

Lord what do I have to do?

What is it going to take?

I’ll do what You ask

Just don’t this child forsake.

If we could go back

To where we left off

I wouldn’t be so quick

I’d certainly count the costs.

Lord what do I have to do?

What is it going to take?

Will I ever move on,

Will this standstill break?

I’ve known You in anxiety

I’ve known You in depression

Whatever it takes I’ll go through

This is my confession.

Let’s Pray for America (5/14)

Let’s pray for America

Let’s not neglect her this way

But faithfully give her to Jesus

Quit being lazy’s slave.

Let’s pray for America

Let’s not be apathetic fools

Living only for our desires

We rob the nation, we are quite cruel.

Let’s pray for America

It is part of our duty

If we believe as we say we do

We must follow through here.

Let’s pray for America

She’s drowning in sin

She doesn’t know which way is up

She’s lost the will to win.

Let’s pray for America

Jesus alone can mend

He can turn our wicked hearts

He can our will bend.

Let’s pray for America

What are we doing today?

Are we too wrapped up in ourselves

To make time and pray?

Let’s pray for America

Her future depends on us

We know the answer, we know The Way

Now is the time to trust.

Let’s pray for America

Aren’t we afraid for our children?

Let’s take our petitions to God

If we’re repentant, He will hear them.

Let’s pray for America

Let’s not sit back this way

But come to the altar of repentance

At last turn and pray.

If my people, who are called by name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14

What Is On Your Heart? (5/13)

What is on your heart?

I’ll tell you what’s on mine

We’ve a country here that’s drowning –

Is it worse than Noah’s time?

I mean, the evidence is overwhelming

Why just look around

Can’t get away from what’s selling

In Immorality’s town.

What is on your heart?

Does it grieve you too?

To try and live an upright life

Only to again yield to excuse?

I mean, everyone else seems fine

Sitting pretty in their sin

What’s the harm in doing it too?

We just want to fit in.

What is on your heart?

Are you weary from trying to be good?

There is hope, you’re not alone

Grab hold of His Personhood.

I mean, He’s been in the world

He fought temptation

Before finally bearing all the sin

With its expansive disgraces.

What is on your heart?

I’ll tell you what’s on mine

We have to dig deep –

Not let the world define!

I mean, a war is waging

Whether or not we’re aware

It doesn’t stop happening

Just ‘cause we don’t care.

What is on your heart?

I’ll tell you what’s on mine

The future of our country –

Does it spin on a dime?

I mean, is it luck or chance

That determines where we’ll be

In ten years from now or

On the pages of Eternity?

What is on your heart?

I’ll tell you what’s on mine

We’ve got to seek Jesus

We’ve got to make time.

I mean, if we believe in Jesus

If we believe in prayer,

We must get serious

And finally seek Him there.

There’s Something Special About Mothers (5/11)

There’s something special about mothersSomething genuine and trueThey love when no one else does

They care deeply for you.

There’s something special about mothers

How they handle the ups and downs

How they calm your soul in an instant

Without making a sound.

There’s something special about mothers

They have a love so resilient

It doesn’t buckle or give way

Only strengthens when you’re distant.

There’s something special about mothers

Their approval means so much

We want to return the blessing

Of their nurturing touch.

There’s something special about mothersThe ones who cook and cleanThen still find time to be with you

They do it all it seems!

There’s something special about mothers

Their faithfulness has no end

They’re the hands that rock the cradle

They shape the world of men.

There’s something special about mothers

Let’s pray heaven hears this plea

To bless them immensely

Just as they have you and me.

What Makes a Mother Special (5/11)

What makes a mother special? Is it her comforting touch?

Or that no matter what happens

She loves you very much?

What makes a mother special?

Is it that she knows you so well?

Or that when no one else sees

She knows, she can tell?

What makes a mother special?

Is it that she bore you in labor?

Or that because of her faith

It seems you now have favor?

What makes a mother special?

Is it that she’s become a friend?

Or that she always waits,

Her patience has no end?

What makes a mother special? Is it her constant provision for you?

Or that there’s nothing in the world

She wouldn’t surely do?

What makes a mother special?

Is it her loving embrace?

Or the way she taught you things,

The way you were raised?

What makes a mother special?

Is it any certain thing?

Or is it simply she’s a gift from God,

A present from The King?
