Let’s get to the better part

Let go of the chores and chatter;

Let’s get to the better part

To the heart of the matter.

Why do we run here and there

Chasing life around

When mercy sits and simply stares

Waiting to be found?

Let’s get to the better part

Let go of life’s demands;

Let’s get to the better part

Resting gently in His hands.

Why do we go without feeding

On His undying love

When manna is fresh every day,

Sent from heaven above?

Let’s get to the better part

Let go of what used to be;

Let’s get to the better part:

Jesus and “me”.

Let go of fear and control;

And find rest for our souls.
