Lean In (10/8/09)

He is ever so near;

He will not leave nor forsake you

To His side hold dear.

   When the world encroaches

On your sanity,

When the demands of the day

Threaten to overwhelm

   Breathe deep

And lean a little closer to Jesus

Whisper your heart to Him;

He knows the burdens you carry

To your troubles He gives ear.

When others start to despair,

You have the calming of Jesus

His ever-presence, His continual care.

   So lean a little closer to Jesus

Make known your anxieties

To the One able to help you

The One whose love was declared

When the nails were driven,

When such innocent blood was shed.

   He will take you back

Don’t worry

Just lean a little closer to Him

Confess your heart completely

He’s waiting –

Go on, let Him in.
